‘SEE’ TURTLES FROM AFAR

Connect with the Georgia Sea Turtle Center virtually right from the classroom. Meet some of our sea turtle patients tank side while connecting sea turtle life history to topics like adaptations, habitats, life cycles, conservation efforts, or veterinary care. Your tour guide will share turtle facts and the stories of our current patients along with treatment methods for rehabilitation and release.

SESSIONS OFFERED OCTOBER-APRIL

Sessions are offered weekdays from October to April (all eastern standard time) and must be booked a minimum of 2 weeks before the desired date. Additional advance notice is suggested. Before booking your reservation, please review the following information:

• Sessions are available for kindergarten to 12th grade
• Program capacity is 50 participants (children & adults) per session. Groups larger than our maximum are required to book multiple time slots.
• Know your school contact information and preferred application (Zoom and Google Classroom preferred).
• Once your reservation request & payment are submitted, you will receive a follow-up email with a link to an online form needed to complete your reservation.
• A test connection is required for Virtual Field Trip sessions & must be completed at minimum of 24 hours in advance of your program.
• Two-way audio/visual capabilities is required. For the best broadcast quality, a hard-wire internet connection is recommended.

Please provide your preferred date & time for each session booked (October-April). All program times must be Eastern Time zone (9:00am-3:00pm). All requests must be submitted at least two weeks prior to the first session date. All reservations are subject to calendar & staff availability. An official confirmation of date & time will be sent via email within 72 hours of booking request.

Test Connection Date/Time

Test connections are designed to test and troubleshoot the internet connection, audio and video prior to your live Virtual Field Trip session. A test connection is mandatory and must be completed a minimum of 24 hours before the first session date. Only one test connection is required when booking multiple session dates & times. Test connections can be scheduled Monday-Thursday 9:00 am-3:00 pm eastern time.

Please provide 2 alternate dates & times. All program times must be Eastern Time zone (9:00am-3:00pm).

Total Number of Participants

Please provide the anticipated total number of participants (students & adults). To ensure program quality, our maximum per session is 50 total participants. Groups exceeding this maximum MUST book multiple sessions.

Teaching Format

Please provide a description of your classroom setup (one group of multiple classes watching a single projection, all learners connecting offsite, a mix of in-person and offsite learners, etc.)

Program Agreement

Once we receive your order, a confirmation email with subject line "GSTC Virtual Field Trip Confirmation" from gstcreservations@jekyllisland.com will be sent to confirm your date(s)/time(s) selection.

Group size is limited to 50 total participants/session
Sessions may vary as we are a working hospital
If there are technical difficulties, please contact 912-635-4141. Staff will standby for 15 minutes. Failure to connect may result in forfeiting session time.
If there are technical difficulties during the session, we will make attempts to connect. If we cannot reconnect and at least 75% of the session is complete, the session will end. Staff will attempt to answer student questions via email.
Please give at least 48 hours notice in the event of needing to reschedule.
We reserve the right to cancel a session without refund in the event a test connection has not been scheduled or completed within the appointed timeframe.
We reserve the right to cancel a session without refund in the event communication of requested information does not get sent within the appointed timeframe.
Active supervision and behavior management is required during the session.
I am responsible for communicating the above details to all group leaders participating in the session(s).
I understand that recording audio/video of Virtual Field Trip sessions is a prohibited action.
